Leigh has been pushing for a weekend AGM for as many years as he has lived in Leeds, we will have to call his bluff and see if he can get to the next one that is held on a Saturday.

I seem to remember that when they were held on Saturday evenings they were reasonably well attended.

I was sorry to miss this years, once again working over the border.

Hope we all make an effort to support the Lions "Beer Festival" on the 27th & 28th June at The Institute.

Abertillery Lions Club 1st Beer Festival

Venue - The Institute Division Street Abertillery
When - Saturday 27th June 2009 11 am to 11 pm (No admittance after 9.30pm)
Sunday 28th June 2009 11am to 5.30 pm

Featuring - Welsh Ales and Ciders

Cost - £2 per day if purchased at the door
£1.50 on production of CAMRA card
£1.50 if purchased prior to the event

It is intended to have a small number of stalls for the purchase of food, wine and soft drinks.
Children are welcomed free if accompanied by an adult and there will be a number of activities fro them up to 5 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased from Ashes, any Lion Member or by post. Postal applications should include not only payment but a SAE. Postal applications should be made to : Lion President c/o 3, Clytha Crescent, Abertillery, Blaenau Gwent. NP13 2ED
