Abercarn v. Talywain - postponed
Abertillery BG 18 Brynithel 6
Monmouth v Machen tbc
Nantyglo 6 Gwernyfed 0
Risca 10 Llandaff 11
Tredegar Ironsides 16 Rhiwbina 12
The possibilties:
Talywain it appears did not turn up at Abercarn and may have informed the union that they cannot fulfil their fixtures. If so, their record will be expunged and if Tillery beat Abercarn next week securing a bonus point, we will be promoted. Nantyglo would have to win all their three remaining games with bonus points to catch Tillery if we secure just a win. Neither Risca, Rhiwbina or Llandaff can catch us if Talywain's record is expunged.

Yet another good result and with Gwernyfed losing, it must now look good for second place.
I will watch the run-in with interest. Keep the focus aber. |

As the website report says it is all down to results at this stage. Aber have shown plenty of times this season they are capable of good and sometimes very good rugby so yesterday's performance wasn't a worry bearing in mind the conditions, both weather and pitch.
It will be interesting to see if Talywain have officially thrown in the towel before the next game. If so it sounds as if we have the chance to seal promotion. Whatever happens to Talywain - and hopefully they can struggle on - I am sure we will be back to our best for Abercarn. |
