Have i missed a trick here, i thought the youth was to be run to feed and support the seniors. Over the past 5 yrs this has been done, you only have to look at the players now in the seniors. It quite clear that youth rugbys on its knees in north gwent , you only have to look at where we have attracted our players from. It would be interesting how many of the current crop of youth players are from Abertillery it's self. Why should Abertillery B.G fund a youth side for other senior sides to come and steal which happened last year, and previous years, even losing better players to the dragons set ups.Its hard enough to raise funds to support a senior side. It is sad that the two sides couldn't work together, but if the youth coaches views were different from what the senior committee / and coaches are then for the better and future of the club perhaps it was time to move on to pastures new.The old committee were always attacked for not showing faith in the youth set up, and now the new committe are being attacked for wanting to use the youth it seems that a committee man cant win these days. And finaly lets not forget if it was'nt for the present commiitee working hard with one of our senior coaches we would'nt have a first team or a youth team now, and would have lost a proud and long history.
