I've now read many statements from various people about what happened at the meeting on Monday.

At the end of the day people will believe what they want to believe so there is no point in reality presenting any views.

The main concern should be endeavouring to maintain Abertillery Youth and Abertillery BG RFC. The youth management ego's should not enter the equation.

The first priority is for the team to complete their fixtures for this season and to move on with a new team management for next season.

No one disputes that the youth squad have developed over recent years as they have done in the past and a lot of that is down to the coaches, however the individual players have also achieved this.

We thank the coaches for their services to Abertillery youth however as stated irrevocable differences over the purpose of the youth team caused the split not personal issues.

Let this be an end to the matter and LETS MOVE ON.

Have i missed a trick here, i thought the youth was to be run to feed and support the seniors. Over the past 5 yrs this has been done, you only have to look  at the players now in the seniors. It quite clear that youth rugbys on its knees in north gwent , you only have to look at where we have attracted our players from. It would be interesting how many of the current crop of youth players are from Abertillery it's self. Why should Abertillery B.G fund a youth side for other senior sides to come and steal which happened last year, and previous years, even losing better players to the dragons set ups.Its hard enough to raise funds to support a senior side. It is sad that the two sides couldn't work together, but if the youth coaches views were different from what the senior committee / and coaches are then for the better and future of the club perhaps it was time to move on to pastures new.The old committee were always attacked for not showing faith in the youth set up, and now the new committe are being attacked for wanting to use the youth it seems that a committee man cant win these days. And finaly lets not forget if it was'nt for the present commiitee working hard with one of our senior coaches we would'nt have a first team or a youth team now, and would have lost a proud and long history.
