Abertillery BG win friendly against CaerleonAbertillery won an entertaining friendly fixture against division 6 table toppers Caerleon last night by 33 - 12.
The 'green and whites' took the opportunity to field players who have had little game time recently and also to blood a number of senior youth players. This mix of youth and experience paid dividends with some exhilarating running rugby on show, unfortunately an excessive amount of unnecessary penalties were conceded which restricted Abertillery's winning margin. However one should not be churlish and over critical as seven tries were scored five by the home team and two by the opposition.
One player who will remember the evening will be Lee Meredith who with the last move of the game tried to put some panache on his scoring technique and lost the ball when diving for the try behind the posts, lets hope he doesn't repeat this in a highly charged league encounter
