Gwernyfed 46 Abertillery 10Not a good day at the office! Well beaten even though we kept going till the end. Contributed to our own downfall big time with some very soft tries and gimmes to be honest. Still, lets get it out of the way now and win the really important games when they come along.
Well done Gwernyfed by the way on a fine performance.

Just did'nt turn up yesterday for some reason and we got well beat by what i thought was an outstanding gwernyfed team performance which just simply cut us to ribbons with some superb running onto the ball.
But all is not lost and have to bounce back next week away to high flying nelson which is going to be another tough task but this is what its all about and move on from yesterdays result, cant win um all...heads up lads !!

One our worst performances for a long time, the body language seemed to be negative which after last weeks match seemed strange.
Missed tackles continually put us on the back foot, penalty after penalty didn't help as well as we were driven back into our half by excellent kicking by the Gwernyfed side.
Don't get me wrong this was a very good Gwernyfed side BUT had we played as we know we can a tougher encounter would have ensued.
Even though we haven't gained the wins this term our strong point has been our defensive lines..... not so yesterday.
On a positive note the scrum yesterday was once again our strength and should be applauded, unfortunately young Matthew Phelps now leaves our ranks this Thursday as he leaves for Australia..... good luck Matthew you've done well for the club on your move up from the youth ranks.
We need to look forward now to next weeks game at Nelson and not dwell on yesterdays performance and get bck to winning ways.

Probably the least said about Saturday's game the soonest mended.
I am sure the club coaches will have picked up what there is to learn.
It was a disappointing performance after last week and it was as if we did not turn up in mind and spirit which was very strange.
OK time to put that result behind us, Gwernyfed were on song so congratulations to them, but let's get on with the job in hand Aber, consolidation in the league starting with an away win at Nelson on Saturday.
Come on Aber.

Thanks for the kind words, lads & after your result last week we were expecting a tough one - that's the way it goes I guess.
Look forward to seeing you next season.
Good to see Hayden & Phil still looking their age - at least some things never change!!
