Where were the supporters?

The match yesterday was played before one of the poorest crowds since our 'reincarnation'. Where was everyone? Are we becoming a team with fair weather supporters? I certainly hope not! Evil or Very Mad

The game was a bit of a laclustre event on the day when the green and whites couldn't seem to raise their game to the standards they are capable of, whereas the opposition also failed to show the form that their league position suggests. However a 'wins a win' and we welcome the league points that keep is at the top end of the table.

The pictures are available at http://davidmason278.fotopic.net/ as usual.

From a distant perspective, the result seemed a good one.

After all, we started the day below them in the table didn't we?

How many people were there and how many are there usually?

Congratulations

Smile This win extended the league home record to two years. Very impressive for all concerned.
In terms of Saturday's performance it was difficult to evaluate. Did Aber play badly or were Rhiwbina a hard side to beat? Probably a bit of both. The lineout certainly did not function as it usually does and there were lots of mistakes. It also does not help playing Gareth at centre, although it must be said he never lets the side down.
The attendance Saturday was abysmal. I'm not very good at estimating but there could not have been many more than 150 Aber supporters. Those figures are unacceptable, the coaches and team deserve better support than that
On a final point where's Damien Attwell these days? He's quite a nippy and talented footballer.

Shame on you 'part time' supporters!!!

Cast you're mind back just four years and we as Abertillery supporters were in the darkest years in the clubs history.......... The club supporters were desperate! Then.... from the realms of despair there was a glimmer of hope so we turned out in our hundreds to support the new kids on the block. Laughing

Our support helped to take the first step on the promotion trail with much celebration at Oakdale at the end of last season. Wink

Whats happened now? are we drifting into compacency? where's the verbal backing the team relys on so much?

GET OFF YOUR BACKSIDES 'SUPPORTERS' GET DOWN THE PARK!! Evil or Very Mad
