The Sec

Out of adversity..........

Well what can I say a superb performance against second placed Croesyceiliog..... looking bleak before kick-off with us only being able to name two substitutes due to injuries, work commitments and suspensions and those both being props! Then losing our captain five minutes into the game what else could go wrong?

Stormed out of the blocks knocking the visitors backwards with every tackle our loyal supporters could not believe their eyes, I kept pinching myself. First a penalty from the boot of Chris Stevens, then a missed penalty from in front of the posts by Croesy..... three tries in the first half two from Aled Penn the second an amazing mesmoric run that will remain in the memory of all supporters for years to come and another from scrum half Luke Pegler. Fifteen minutes of injury time (mostly spent on our line) brilliant defence and a 22 - nil lead, even the scoreboard couldn't keep up and was switched off!

Croesy storm back and break their duck straight from the kick off with a try, the green and whites struggle to get out of their half as the visitors had been able to bring on fresh legs but the defensive line was magnificient. Down does our second prop substitute Matthew Phelps ironically,  but what do we have on the bench another prop Luke Berry now no one allowed to get injured  Shocked  Dogged determination keeps us going forward and legs driving, the visitors played the game we expected one dimensional trying to smash their way through but not a yard was being given by these tigerish Aber boys. Then the crucial score and a bonus point win when Andrew Mason touched down and Chris Stevens converted yet again and an amazing 29 - 5 win with five points in the bag.

I could congratulate individuals but this was a magnificent team performance with everyone contributing and NO week links. Roll on Gwernyfed

Very Happy  Very Happy

I was so excited during the first half that I failed to take any pictures but I did get my camera out during the second period.

Well done team you did us and yourselves proud ! It all came together yesterday against probably the most powerful team in the division,i think aber were better in every aspect of the game from 1 to 15 and crosy just had no ansewers and had them rattled from the start, with their no 12 and captain loosing the plot early doors and luke peg terrorising his opposite number really put crosy on the back foot for the whole game.

We have a real threat at 13 in nicky stevens and must bring him into the game more ???

A tremendous game and even better result and the team must take a lot of confidence from it,i think the lads are now up to speed in this league and will look to win a few more games in the second half of the season...And may relegation never be mentioned !! ( not on that performance anyway)

Ill see you all at gwernyfed.

                                                    Well done lads !!!

All hail the conquering green and white clad heroes who were totally magnificent and produced one of the best displays at The Park for a long time.
The pack were superb and the backs were terriffic and we just ran the opposition off the their legs on our way to a superb win.
I must admit I came to The Park ready to see a damage limitation exercise having heard the team news and was ready to cheer on a do or die effort but when we started we just looked like we were going to win and win we did -  big time.
Well done the team and the coaches. I was singing all the way home and was very very happy indeed.
Go Aber, go!
Keep it going lads until the end of the season.
Brilliant lads - just brilliant.
Ian
