Signings boost

Abertillery's Division 3 East league campaign has received a very welcome new year boost with three signings to bolster the squad. In the pack, Craig Meredith returns from Blaina having joined the Lambs at the start of the season. A very influential figure in the successive promotions achieved by Tillery in the last two seasons, Meredith will provide additional steel to the Green & Whites' pack.

Behind the scrum another former Green & White returns in the shape of experienced and speedy wing, Damien Attwell who rejoins from Brynithel. The third signing also boosts the backs as another talented youngster, Ashley Parfitt, who starred for Abertillery Youth, joins his peers such as Nicky and Chris Stevens. Parfitt has decided to return to rugby having played football this season to date.

All three signings will be welcomed by all at the club and will put everyone in good heart for rest of the league campaign, which still has almost two-thirds of the games remaining.

Good news on signings.

Excellent news on the return of Craig and Damien and well done to Ashley for re-discovering the excitement of oval balls.

Any news on John Price? If he's near fitness again I'm a lot more confident for the second half of the season.

I'm sure that the extra expeience and much missed agression of both John and Craig will prove to be decisive in our favour in some of the key games we have against HSOB, New Tredegar and Cwmbran. Win those and we should be safe and able to look to build for next season.

Now all we need is for the Sec' to forecast good weather for the games ahead. Factor 20 all round!!
