I think the game our friend is on about is the game abertillery and crosskeys played on abertillery park against the Australian team of
C.J WINDSOR A.E.J. TONKIN M.L.HOWELL, A.E.WALKER;J.W.T.McBRIDE,N.A.EMERY,C.T.BURKE,E.TWEEDALE,
K.KEARNEY,R.E.McMASTER,C.J.WINDEN,P.A.HARDCASTLE,
N.SHEHADIE,K,J,FULLER,W.M.McLEAN
Abertillery/Crosskeys:
Abertillery players were S.LLEWELLYN.G,TRENCHARD,E,LEWIS,
W,HUGHES,K,ADAMS,G.PARSONS and T,JOHN
Crosskeys players were T.BOWEN,B.WILLIAMS,J.LANE,
H,THOMAS,Captain,N.DAVIES,J.PRITCHARD,I,HAMBLETON,W,J.MORGAN
The referee was a Mr W.D.RICHARDS of Llanfrechfa
the home side lost G.Parsons from the pack in the first half through injury i wonder what the score would have been if the home side had 15 men for eighty minutes and the score that day was Australia 6 Abertillery/Crosskeys 3 must had been a good game to watch i hope that gives you some information

Dear Leigh,
Many thanks for your information re 1947 match.
I saw a game at Abertillery at about that time against a touring team which I thought was a South African 15. The score was 3-6 and the tourists looked to be glad the game was over, they looked Kerry Packered as they came off.
Do you know if the Boks play a combined team about the same time, i.e. between 1946 and 1949? I'm sure that a South African player called Oki Gefin (I don't know if that is the correct spelling) played in that game.
Once again many thanks for the reply. I would really like to know the names of any Boks team that did tour around that time.
Regards.
Hedley James
