Leigh,
I stand to be corrected by the Hon Sec who understands such mysteries but I think Nantyglo got a point for being within 3/ 5/7 ? (think of a number) of the winning score.
I can't remember the actual difference needed between winning and losing score but I think the losing team get a point if they lose by a certain small margin - well I think that is the general drift.
Over to you Mr Hon. Sec.

Your right Ian. If the losing team is within a 7 point margin they receive one point.
The results certainly went for us last weekend. It's looking good for us. We need to remain focussed and promotion is for the taking. _________________ Graham Riley |

I need to post no further explanation, bonus points were brought in to promote open and competative rugby and a point can be earned by scoring four tries or by keeping a losing margin to seven or less points. Hence it is possible to accrue two bonus points if you complete each criteria!
5 points win and score 4 tries
4 points win
3 points draw and score 4 tries
2 points draw OR score 4 tries but lose bt 7 or less points
1 point score 4 tries or lose bt 7 or less points
Hope this explains the points system |

Having read the sec posting about points and the fact that risca got a bonus point should risca have 59 points not 57
look,s like we could be played risca at a bad time any news about the talywain game |

I have amended the table to include an extra point for Risca which takes them to 58 (not 59). However, they would have to win all three games against us, Llandaff and Gwernyfed with bonus points and then hope we couldn't win three others. They are still in the mix, but the ball is in our court and it's only ours to lose now.
As I posted on another thread:
Here's an interesting scenario:
If Talywain's record does get expunged before Saturday, then if we were to win on Saturday with a bonus point, Gwernyfed beat Nantyglo, Risca beat Llandaff and the Ironsides beat Rhiwbina with none of the sides losing gaining a bonus point, we would be promoted. |
