A very brave performance by the young Aber side against opponents who up front were far bigger ended in a 12-10 defeat means that the Green & Whites are down.
We led 3-nil at ht but their pack strangled us after the break with boring to watch but effective driving play and powerful scrummaging. Two quick tries made it 12=3 before Tillery started to get some ball and run it, looking far better behind than the Old Boys. A try by Jon Price was excellently converted by Chris Stevens but it was too late.
Well done to Newport HSOB for an impressive end to the season.
To our boys, heads up! We may be relegated but you have given your all for most of the season and to go down after accruing 38 points is no disgrace with a side that is so young on the whole. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

Gutted - especially gaining 39 points.
Great effort by the squad all year to give them a chance of staying in Div 3. Im sure everybody is absolutely gutted at the moment but im sure the team will look back at the season and take a lot belief into next season and look to gain promotion back into Div 3.
Hopefully not too many players will leave the squad and a few more can be added to improve what is already a good team.
And all the best to Pitman as it was his last game last night. |

Bad luck lads, we were well bottom of the table just before Christmas, but performed much better in the second half of the season. Unfortunately HSOB really upped the anti in the last two months.
Hold on to our sqaud and add a few new names and we will be a force next season and better prepared having had the experience of playing in a higher division. |

In the end it was a tight division with Gwernyfed only just above us. It is all part of the learning curve for which mostly is a very young squad. NHSOB's played some more experienced players as well who have seen action in much higher leagues...
Here is to session 2009-10 |

Obviously like everyone else I was gutted to hear of the result on Thursday but congratulations to the team who gave their all - well done lads.
Yes it is painful to get relegated but we will bounce back again and learn by our experiences this season.
So let's build on what we have and look forward to a great season in 2009 - 2010.
Look at the strides we have made since we nearly folded all together in 2003.

I made a 400 mile round trip to the game from Essex.
Dissappointed to go down, but pleased with a spirited display.
Hopefully it's 1 step back to take 2 steps forward.
Good luck for next season. |

I think you are to be congratulated on your 400 mile trip to support the lads especially as I could not make a 164 mile round trip.
That must be the longest journey to support Aber.

I was so dissapointed to read about the match reports on the last game, particularly as it looked like we might survive. Such a shame after all the hard work and dedication shown.
I congratulate the team and coaches on their efforts and wish them well for next season. Chins up lads. |

Know wonder that Scott Rossiter thought we would not go down when thinks we had 39 points at the end of the season
Just look at the table |
