I realise that we are all anxious to generate some discussion on the new Board, however, calling off our final home game because of the condition of the ground is going to far???
I had a wander around the Park at 2:15 yesterday afternoon, I was very surprised to find the game off. No standing water on the pitch, a little greasy, obviously would have cut up a little but nothing that would not have recovered within a few days. The Blue's game on Friday evening and the state of The Arms Park sets the standards.
Most other games were played in the Borough including a scintillating match on Rose Heyworth, where the Old Tyleryans gave Monmouth Druids a sound thrashing, 19-17. Desperate for some action, I had to resort to Touch Judging.
Call me an old cynic but I wonder if the Dragons Under 20's on The Park on Wednesday night has any bearing on Aber’s game being called off. With rain forecast for the next 48 hours it will be interesting to see if Wednesdays game goes ahead. : |

I was a little perplexed shall we say!!!!
Had a text message from Neil Hoskins saying the game was off and was rather shocked[and VERY disappointed!!!].Having driven past the field about 11am with there no obvious stagnant water on there made me think why the decision was made.I wouldn`t be at all surprised if the decision was taken with the Dragons game in mind, plus theres a few finals lined up for the soccer boys to take part in over the next 4-5 weeks.Reluctantly I`d say that its only fair they play on a pitch thats in good condition and befitting a final regardless of standard.I hear that Machen overcame Bettws by 13-10 so that was obviously good for us as Bettws were still in with a shout.By no means over yet with all very much to play for.Caldicot away Saturday will be a fifty pointer, mark my words.............. |

No need to repeat yourself Dodgers I heard you first time!! Nice to see the lads out 'all together' on Saturday evening and its interesting to now know that your real name is CLIFFORD
As Blind Pew said I'll be waiting to see if Wednesday's Dragon's match against the Scarlets is called off taking into account the amount of rain we've had since Saturday |

Fancy me repeating myself!!!!!
T`was a brill afternoon and night[to a certain point when my memory fades....!!!] There was a SUPERB atmosphere upstairs in the club.Loads of singing, games and jokes flying around whilst we were all decked out in 60`s outfits. My favourites included Craig Meredith who looked just like he`d stepped off the magic roundabout, Nick Merediths effort was superb, very unlike him to enjoy making a fool of himself.Dan "Suede" Merediths outfit was a bit special, even colour-coded his jeans, top and head band.Andrew Mas reminded me of the old grey haired prisoner from The Life of Brian, very good effort though as was everyones.Truly memorable night.
Bring on the photos Dai and leave the Clifford name check out of it!!!! |
