We are very sad to report the death of Mr Ken Wanklyn. Ken was a staunch supporter, committee member and servant of this club for many years and will be sorely missed. The club sends its thoughts and condolences to his family and many friends at this sad time.

Just how faithful a supporter was Ken was highlighted by his unexpected appearances at our away games at the back end of last season despite his illness. I remember especially that at Chepstow where he was released from hospital for the afternoon just to see the game, which he was able to do from Jim Hancock's car despite obviously feeling very ill. It lifted the supporters' and players' hearts to see Ken there on a very blustery, rainy day and Ken's face when we won right at the end was a delight to see. I am sure I speak for all Tillery supporters when I say we will miss Ken a lot and Saturday games will seem a little diminished without him. Condolences to all his friends and family.

I reiterate David's expressions of condolence, Ken for many years was a hard working committeeman who would carryout any task asked of him, making the tea after training or manning the gate no task was too small! Over the last year when Ken had suffered poor health it was always a pleasure to see him at the matches and I know that he took great pride in the fortunes of the team.

Ken was a 'green and white' through and through and will be greatly missed by all.
