Abertillery flattered to deceive when they scored 12 points in as many minutes at the start of yesterdays match. Players and supporters thought the floodgates were going to open......... It was not mean't to be and Ynyssdu cntrolled the rest of the half and deservedly took a 15 - 12 lead.
Rossi must have read the riot act at half-time as Abertillery spent the bulk of the second half in home team territory, mostly controlling possession.
A below par performance from the lads, still we scored a further four tries and won a match that we could easily have lost!
We've now gone ten league games since our last defeat back on 12th November against Gwernyfed.
A stiff finale to the season now with games against Usk, Gwernyfed and Machen. Win these and I'm sure we'll see plenty of smiling faces amongst our supporters although I'm sure we'll here a few .

Sign of a good team, that they can play badly & still win. I've only watched 3 games this season, but I've been impressed by the quality of the rugby and more importantly the spirit of the players and for that matter that of the supporters.
It can only get better you've come a long way in the last couple of seasons. Players, Commitee & supporters should all feel very proud! |
