A somewhat lack lustre performance by the Abertillery team saw Rhiwbina deservedly win in yesterdays encounter. No arguements about the outcome of the game, the only plus factor was preventing what seemed an inevitable forth try and bonus point.
We must now dig deep and keep the belief!

| Hi Dave i dont think it was a lack lustre performance, but for the first 15mins, it was very physical. We were up against a very large and physical team, who could only play one way. Once we got to grips with there style we were 17points down but after that we became the better team, but there defence held out well.Once again at crucial times 2 referee decisions might have swung the game our way i.e scrum5 and there last penalty, i do believe if we got in front we would have won. If you looked at the teams coming off they were the ones carrying battle scars as once again our fitness showed through. |

After spending some reflective time its true to say we were beaten by a better side on the day. They certainly knew where their strength lay and played to it.
It shows how good a season we have had up to now as our only two other defeats have been by a single point hinging on the last kick of each game.
We probably tried to force the game too much especially when we passed it wide. Our distribution let us down somewhat.
There is still however a massive 65 points to play for and we can still be in the mix for promotion at the end on the season. Apart from Nantyglo our remaining fixtures are against teams in the bottom half of the table.
C'mon Aber lets bounce back, everyone is behind you. _________________ Graham Riley |

I'm embarrassed that I made such a fundamental arithmetical error relating to the points still on offer for the rest of the season. There is of course 7 games left which means a optimum aggregate of 35 points, not 55.
Am I smarter than a 10 year old? Definately not!!!!! _________________ Graham Riley |

Again there's 9 games left which is 45 points max.
This is my last posting for several weeks. I may attend the matches with a bag over my head. How stupid can one feel. _________________ Graham Riley |

Once again, thanks for the comments. Almost feel I was there!
Let's put it behind us and move on.
Still plenty of games and points to be had. |
